The work Enfolded captures the essence of enclosure and protection through its very construction and composition. The painted cardboard, combined with the alfablock within it, reflects the resilient exterior of a fortress and the hidden narratives within its cells. The colours, tones, and shapes depicted on its surfaces symbolise the layers of history and personal stories embedded within the fortress walls, evoking a sense of confinement and protection. This interplay between the external and internal elements of the work mirrors the duality of the fortress as both barrier and refuge, the stability and sensitivity of the material itself, while it is preserved or confronted by time, depicting the timeless tension between restriction and protection.
